Welcome to the Chorley Ramblers website

As part of the Ramblers Association, we exist to facilitate, for the benefit of everyone, the enjoyment and discovery that walking outdoors can bring and to promote respect for the life of the countryside

The Ramblers Association:

  • Encourages walking

  • Protects rights of way

  • Defends the beauty of the countryside....

...and has successfully campaigned to roam over uncultivated land.

Join any of Chorley Ramblers' 100+ walks per year, (click here to see our programme), to experience parts of the country not seen before, with beauty spots close to hand, far distant hills, moorland, plains and coastlines.

Many of our walks visit our own local countryside, with stunning views, historic buildings, an abundance of wildlife and interesting footpaths. Our Footpath Checkers constantly monitor all the footpaths in the borough, facilitating both their maintenance and the removal of blockages.

Why not take one of our wonderful Coach Rambles, which cover long distance footpaths in various stages. In the past we have completed:

                Pennine Way
                Ribble Way
                Dales Way
                Calderdale Way

Currently, Offa's Dyke path and the 40Arc are being walked in stages - for further information, see our Coach Rambles page.

Children of all ages are welcome on our  Scramblers  walks

Our group newsletter  Out and About, details information and stories from our walks. A new edition is produced with each '4 monthly' walks programme.

Why don't you become a member of the Ramblers Association and participate more fully in rambling activities and countryside conservation.
