Join the Ramblers

When you join the Ramblers' Association you are automatically a member of the Local Group, in this case Chorley Ramblers, and will receive full details of our walks programme as well as the programme for other groups in Lancashire.

Membership of the Ramblers Association offers you the following:

  • A programme of walks delivered to your address and free walks led by experienced walkers
  • Newsletters from our group, Chorley Ramblers, and from the area group (Mid Lancashire)
  • The Walk Britain book, which is a carefully compiled collection of key walking information, including B&Bs and Self Catering establishments in the countryside, with their proximity to long distance footpaths
  • Listings and descriptions of many long distance paths
  • A list of people in the Ramblers Association, for you to contact in any locality of the country, so that you may, for instance, join them on a walk when you are on holiday
  • Details of what the Ramblers Association does on behalf of all walkers
  • Details of how to report footpath blockages that you may find along the highways and byways
  • The Walk magazine, which includes articles and walks throughout Britain, letters and useful tips on walking gear
  • An opportunity to support the work of the Ramblers Association in maintaining the Footpath Network and looking after the countryside.
  • Discounts from many walking stores on the production of your RA membership card
  • Access to a library of maps at 1:25000 and 1:50000 scale
