Scrambler’s Walks Programme 2010

The Scrambler's walk programme is designed for children and teenagers and their families. Each walk is drawn up with their interests at the forefront. Our aim is to encourage younger people to enjoy nature as much as we do and to enthuse them with the same love of walking that we have.

Each walk is on a Sunday afternoon, starting at 2:00p.m. apart from the February and October walks which will begin at  1:30p.m.

There will normally be 2 walks, a shorter one of about 2 miles and a longer one of about 4 miles for those who wish to stretch their legs!

Ramblers Association 75th Anniversary celebrations Baton Walks

Hello Children, we have a special walk for you on:  July 3rd 2010

The walk will be 5 kilometres long, will start from Hallgate car park, Astley Village , Chorley at 2:30pm.

It will finish in Astley Park and we are having a picnic there for everybody, (you need to bring your own picnic), there will be special balloons for all the children who go on the walk!

As well as your picnic you need to bring your parents or grandparents or someone who is responsible for you.

We are calling our walks: Baton Walks, because each group of walkers will carry their own piece of a big baton and will share it around, a bit like a relay race.

Just before our picnic the children’s baton will be joined with four other baton pieces, carried by people on the four longer walks, to make a really big baton.

Don’t forget --- SATURDAY, July 3rd (even if it’s snowing!!!!)
